This licence applies to users who receive API access, bulk export, enterprise data or separately licensed datasets from MCH Publications. It forms part of the MCH Publications policy framework and applies in addition to the Terms of Service and the Acceptable Use Policy.

01

Who this licence applies to

This licence governs API access, bulk export, enterprise data and separately licensed datasets. Where MCH issues specific licence terms for a dataset, API or enterprise arrangement, those terms apply together with this licence.

No subscription tier includes API access, data feeds or bulk export: MCH Publications does not currently offer them, as stated in the Pricing & Subscription Policy. This licence governs only a separate written dataset or enterprise agreement, should one be issued.

02

Licence scope

The licence covers only the data, endpoints, exports and datasets identified in the applicable licence terms, for the purposes and within the limits those terms set. Rights not expressly granted are retained by MCH.

03

Authorised users and seats

Access is limited to the authorised users and seats identified in the licence.

04

Internal use by default

Unless the licence expressly provides otherwise, licensed data may be used only for the internal purposes of the licensee.

05

Restrictions

The licensee may not:

  • redistribute licensed data unless expressly licensed to do so
  • resell licensed data
  • create competing data products from licensed data
06

Source attribution

Where the licence requires it, the licensee must attribute MCH as the source of the data.

07

API credential controls

API credentials are issued for the use of the licensee and may not be shared beyond authorised users. The licensee must keep credentials secure.

08

Rate limits and export limits

Rate limits and export limits apply as set out in the licence. Abuse of API limits is prohibited under the Acceptable Use Policy.

09

Derived data

The applicable licence terms set out the extent to which data derived from licensed data may be created, retained and used, and whether the restrictions in this licence continue to apply to it.

10

Third-party and licensed data

Where licensed data incorporates third-party or separately licensed data, additional restrictions arising from those third-party licences apply to the licensee.

11

Termination

On termination or expiry of the licence, access ends and the right to use the licensed data ends, except as the licence terms expressly provide.

12

Survival

Intellectual-property and confidentiality restrictions survive termination or expiry of the licence.
